Motorola brand to be phased out by Lenovo
|Motorola Mobility, one of the most recognized brands in smart phones is being phased out by current owner Lenovo. After Google sold Motorola to Lenovo in 2014 the company had decided to focus the Moto brand on their high end smart phone devices and leave the Lenovo Vibe brand for their lower end budget devices. But, Motorola Chief Operating Officer Rick Osterloh says: “We’ll slowly phase out Motorola and focus on Moto” at the CES conference in Las Vegas.
So gone is the Motorola brand name and going forward will be a new Moto branding by Lenovo. So not totally gone in some respects as the Moto will live on but we will miss Motorola none the less. There are probably not too many of us that don’t remember, or even have an old Motorola RAZR laying around. In fact, I have two of them. Each still work and now perhaps I will get them out and charge them.
