Netflix updates App for iPad with Retina Display and HD Streaming to follow
|So you’ve had the New iPad for a few days and as we wrote about last week, we are still waiting for Apps to support it like Infinity Blade: Dungeons that won’t be out until later this year. Another highly anticipated update will be happening soon and that s Netflix streaming HD Videos to our iPads! Netflix Tweeted earlier today that:
The
@Netflix iPad App now has high resolution icons and images, enhancing Netflix on the new iPad, HD video to follow later. Enjoy!
This is excellent news and I cannot wait to see some HD Streaming on the iPad. Of course, with Starz pulling out of Netflix, so did my favorite movie for testing device displays, Lord of the Rings. I’ll have to find another test movie from Netflix until they somehow manage to get some LOTR goodness back. Drop a comment on your favorite movie for graphics in the comments below.
In the mean time, there is an update for the Netflix iPad app that you can download right now that offers better support for the Retina Display on the New iPad:
What’s New in Version 2.1.1
– Improved artwork for new iPad Retina Display
– Fixed VoiceOver support
– Improved playback on external displays
– Numerous fixes and stability improvements
So head on over to the App Store and update if you got the new iPad and stay tuned for HD Video Streaming coming soon from Netflix.
