Next Week’s Windows Phone Xbox Live Title Is Enigmo

Cat is out of the bag: Watch for “Enigmo” for just $2.99, available in the Games marketplace next week!

So what is Enigmo? It’s a 3D puzzler. Here’s the description and I’ll give them credit – the video does a lot more for it than the still screenshots do but this is again a rehashed iPhone title (and it’s 3.5 stars on iTunes).

Enigmo is the most unique game that Pangea Software has ever created. Enigmo is a 3D puzzle game where you move various streams of flowing liquid so that the droplets get to their destination. Liquids (water, oil, and lava) fall from "droppers" and will bounce around the walls of a mechanism. You move and rotate into position various types of bumpers, sliders, accelerators, and sponges in order to divert the flow of the falling droplets. The faster you complete each level, the more bonus you will receive.

In addition to the 50 levels that come with Enigmo, there is also a built-in level editor which allows you to create your own entire games. You can then email these games to your friends to try playing, or even post them to your web site. We expect that as users create their own games and we link to them, there will eventually be thousands of levels for you to download and play with Enigmo!

Here’s the video that is worth flipping through:

OK is this better than Pitfail? Yes, substantially. Is it an Xbox 360 in my pocket? Not even an Xbox original. I don’t want to knock the game cause it actually looks like a lot of fun and well put together and I’ll definitely give it a spin. With that said, I still think that when MS was talking about taking 90% of the code from an Xbox game and porting it to a phone that they were referring games that were unique and not on other platforms. Yes, XNA and three screens/write once is great. But I want exclusive titles already that show off the power of XNA/Xbox on a phone.
