Mobility Digest Review: Philips Emergency Phone Charger Power2Go SCE2110
|Happy Tuesday to you all!! I’ve got another review for you of a product from our friends over the ocean at MobileFun. Yes we review stuff from everywhere, since our reader base is just not limited to the United States. The product is a an interesting take on the portable charger, it’s actually from Phillips, a name I’m sure sure you’re familiar with and it’s aptly named the Emergency Phone Charger. It’s compatible with several different phones out there today, it comes with five different tips including the common mini-USB style like my Tilt uses. The Emergency Charger uses a single AA battery to give you an additional 30 minutes of talk time on your phone. It’s truly a product for emergencies only, it’s not something that you’ll want to use all of the time since it uses a battery each time. Many portable chargers out there are multiple use and they can actually be recharged, but they’re not specifically for emergencies as this one is. It’s well made with a metal housing and it’s not much larger than the AA battery that powers it. There are many situation I’m sure where you could use this product, maybe just keep it in your car, or take it with you camping, hiking or biking as you never know when an emergency will come up and you’ll need to make a phone call.
Here’s the basic specs, I didn’t include the cell phone compatibility list as it’s just huge and would take up most of this review… You can just visit the product page HERE to see the entire list, but it’s compatible with most every phone out there I think…

The Phillips Emergency Charger comes packaged in everyone’s favorite sealed plastic clamshell style packaging. If you notice it even comes with a battery to get you started.
Besides the charger you’ll get the five tips, battery and user manual.
The back end of the charger is the battery compartment cover, it also has a hole for a lanyard or keychain..
The front has a hole that looks just like a 3.5mm headphone jack, that’s where you plug the tip in when you’re ready to charge your phone. There’s also an LED in there that let’s you know you’ve got power.
There’s no on/off switch, once you connect it to your phone it turns on automatically, just find the tip for your phone and plug it in.
Here it is is powered on with the LED lit up and a few pictures of it charging my phone:
For about $16 you can have emergency power for your phone, everything you need is included in the package. The Philips Emergency Phone Charger is very easy to use and it’s well made.
Sure you could use it as a charger for you phone in more than emergencies, but then you’ll be going through batteries so that’s not the wisest choice.
This product is one that you put in your bag or your car and use for emergencies only really. It’s not a bad idea to have something like this with you because you never know what can happen.
