Shooter Game Demoed On A Real WP7 Device
|It’s nice to see games running on an actual device. here’s an XNA game that has 3D layers to it and as you can see there’s no frame rate issues and everything is smooth. That’s reassuring since the desktop emulator isn’t throttled so there were some concerns as to what happens when you have it up and running at 1ghz on a device without the power of a desktop. The answer: bliss.

Do you have any dev information about this game?
Hi there. I’m the developer of the game (still untitled) in the video. This is actually the first build that was tested on a device. If you look at the fps counter you can see that the framerate drops to 11fps at certain points. The most recent build (http://youtu.be/8IoBBozDY3w) runs at between 19-28fps, which is a lot better but still requires some optimisation.
There’s still a lot of work to be done (levels, more enemies, upgrades, sounds, music, etc) but now that the optimisation is largely complete, I can start making significant progress.
