Sony Ericsson announces two Mini yet powerful Xperias
|Sony Ericsson Xperia family has been expanding since the first Xperia phone was introduced. And No, it seems they have no plan to stop doing that. SE just announced two new ‘compact smartphones’ which are successors of Xperia X10 Mini & X10 Mini Pro. The new phones will be known as Xperia Mini and Xperia Mini Pro. As you would have already guessed, Mini Pro is exactly the same as Xperia Mini with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Both the smartphones are powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread. If you are one of the people who tend to own a tablet and a 4.x” smartphone, probably you would like to swap your smartphone with this 3” powerhouse. Yes, it’s a powerhouse of a 1GHz processor and a 512MB RAM. It also features a 5MP camera which can shoot 720p HD video making it “world’s smallest HD video recording smartphone”. And then, you have the 3” HVGA Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine for enjoying your HD videos.Hardware isn’t the only thing that has been upgraded in this next generation Xperia Minis but software too. Now, you can place 16 apps shortcut in the four corner of the screen by grouping 4 in each corner. Another new addition is the “Facebook inside Xperia” – Facebook integrated with your multimedia apps, phonebook and calendar.
Oh, by the way, Facebook inside Xperia is coming to other Xperia phone’s too. The new mini’s will be available globally in select markets starting from July.
