Verizon finally releases the Motorola Droid Bionic 4G LTE 9/8

Verizon customers holding out for the Motorola Droid Bionic can finally relax knowing that the wait is finally over. Available tomorrow at Verizon Stores and online, the Droid Bionic 4G will sell for $299.99 with a two year contract. Big Red feels pretty special with their 4G LTE hot rod network and so far have held those devices to a $100 dollar premium. Around the Mobility Digest water fountain, it appears that the Verizon network is living up to the hype but we are still debating that.

In any case, the Motorola Droid Bionic will not disappoint when you run down the specs sheet. Starting off with the 4G LTE network, the Bionic will have download speeds capable of “download speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps and upload speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps in 4G LTE mobile broadband coverage areas.” The only spec that Motorola is lagging behind in is the processor. Still a dual core, the 1GHz processor is slightly behind Sammy who is kicking out 1.2GHz processors. The screen however will be a 4.3-inch qHD screen using scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass with dual-layer anti-reflective coating. We love Gorilla Glass but hope that Moto does a better job on the qHD than the Droid 3 I just reviewed. The Bionic 4G will have a 8 megapixel rear camera and a VGA (moan) front facing camera. 1080p HD Video Capture also. The Bionic will come with 16GB of internal storage and expandable up to an additional 32GB with a microSD storage card. The Bionic will come with a 16GB storage card pre loaded. DROID BIONIC by Motorola will be available in Verizon Wireless Communication Stores and online at www.verizonwireless.com on Sept. 8 for $299.99 with a new two-year customer agreement.
Customers will need to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan beginning at $39.99 for 450 minutes per month and a smartphone data package starting at $30 monthly access for 2 GB of data.
Verizon Wireless Mobile Hotspot data plans are available beginning at $30 for 2 GB.
