Waze Navigation all the Waze these days
I’ve kept a close eye on Waze for a number of years now, ever since it’s Windows Mobile days! I must say, it has come a long way, a very long way. The concept behind Waze has always been interesting to me, a crowd sourced experience to ultimately get you where you’re going a bit more efficient. Well, Waze is now super popular with the Android and iOS communities and they may be up for sale.
First came the rumors Facebook have been looking into acquiring the navigation solution, and now, new rumors of Google entering the arena. This is interesting, I never thought Google would have tossed their hat in the ring, mainly because the killer combo of Google Maps and Navigator are already rock solid. But wait, it gets more interested. In light of these new rumors, reports of Microsoft being a long time and silent investor in Waze have surfaced! What?!
Supposedly, Microsoft’s share in Waze is not nearly enough to influence a potential purchase by Google, but is their presence alone enough to send Google looking else where? Hmmmm, we’ll just have to hold on and see. By the way, just in case you’re wondering, Waze is said to be up for 1$ Billion!
