Why do CDMA Phones exist? I think CDMA sucks!
In the US there are three major CDMA carriers Verizon, Sprint and Metro and two GSM carriers T-mobile and ATT. So, CDMA phones do make up the majority of the phones in the United States I think and this just bothers me. Every other place in the world has a majority of GSM phones where as the USA which always wants to be different from everyone else still has CDMA phones as the majority! Is this just the US ego of saying we will be different because we want to be different? Like still using inches and feet and lbs and ounces while majority of the world uses the metric system which is hell of a lot simpler when converting to different units and trying to describe a measurement. For example WTF is 3 and 5/16ths of an inch? why not just use a decimal system like 84.15 millimeters. Anyways, this topic is for another day, back to CDMA phones.
As I am writing this article, I did some “CDMA vs. GSM” google searching and did not really come across any information that could explain to me why CDMA phones are better than GSM. Maybe our readers can knock some sense into my brain and enlighten me. Whenever I am considering of switching carriers I never even think about Verizon, Sprint, or Metropcs my only two options are ATT and Tmobile because I need the GSM capability to switch out sim cards when traveling.

Apple Removes YouTube from Latest iOS6 Software
This is interesting, Apple has decided that it is no longer going to include the very popular and probably very highly used youtube app in the newest iOS6 software. The app won’t come prepackaged like it does now but you can still download it from the app store. I don’t understand the reasoning behind this but maybe they are just trying to reduce the prepackage clutter? Or is it just another one of the Apple Vs. Google battles where Apple does not want to support Google in any way since they own YouTube. Here is what Apple had to say about it,
“Our license to include the YouTube app in iOS has ended. Customers can use YouTube in the Safari browser and Google is working on a new YouTube app to be on the app store.”
Also did anyone see that Google reported some higher numbers for this quarter than what analysts expected.
So, what are your thoughts on the reasoning behind this move? An app that has always been included with the iOS is now suddenly being pulled?

Samsung Likely to Launch 11.8″ Tablet, According to Court Documents
Some interesting information seems to be coming out of the patent battle between Apple and Samsung. In court documents that were made public today it appears that Samsung has a 11.8″ tablet in the pipes with retina display this is according to the deciphering work over at The Verge. The display would be a 2560 x 1600 (WQXGA) resolution. I personally think that a 11.8″ device might be slightly on the larger side for a tablet but I tell myself that with every device that seems to have a larger screen than its competition. For example, I thought that the HD2 4.3″ screen was the biggest I would ever get for a phone but now I find myself waiting for the HTC One X + which has a bigger screen.

Iphone 5 to Have a Smaller Connector Port?
Image taken from GSMdome.com
There are some rumors that Apple could possibly be moving towards a smaller 19 pin port from their current 30 pin port. This really does not any sense to me since it is going to piss off a lot of people who have expensive docks and accessories that use the current connector. I think if Apple does end up releasing the phone with a smaller port we can see a huge boom in adapters that convert the 19pin to 30 pin. This could be a potential business opportunity for someone out there. Start thinking of ways to make functional and effective adapters. People would probably be willing to pay $20 or even more to just buy an adapter than to replace all their accessories. There was another rumor that the Iphone 5 will have nano sim too. This is the trend in technology anyways, smaller, faster, and bigger screens. So I won’t be surprised if we see both of these rumors come true. What are your opinions on the new connectors and nano sim cards?

More Nokia/Windows Phone Ads on Major Sites than Ever?
I do not think I have ever seen such a big advertisement and marketing push for windows phone or any of the windows based phones ever. I recently posted about how CNN was running an ad for their windows phone app and today I noticed that ESPN is running an ad for Nokia Lumina 900 and their Windows phone app. The top banner add on ESPN even says, “Introducing the only smartphone with the exclusive ESPN hub”. Does windows phone garner that much attention for ESPN to make a specific features available to only windows phone and the Lumnia 900? I am starting to think these ad are more of a partnership than anything. Anyone have any new theories on these ads? Anyone know the cost to run an ad like this on a site as big as ESPN or CNN?

CNN Advertising their Windows Phone App? or Microsoft?
I was browsing CNN.com and today I happened to notice this advertisement all the way at the bottom and it caught my attention. Is this an ad that CNN put up themselves to get more people to download their app after noticing an increase in windows phone users on their site? Or is this a Microsoft advertising campaign for windows phone and windows phone apps? Anyone know the answer to this question?
