Herm Presents: Scramble – An Addictive Word Game

scramble What would a week be without another release from Herm’s Software? His latest release is a neat game called Scramble. It’s reminiscent of Boggle with a lot more options. In normal mode you need to find as many words as you can as fast as you can. The letters can be side-by-side or separated. If they are in a row you can just keep your finger on the screen and slide it across the letters and when you lift your finger the word is entered. if the letters are separated just press them and hit the check mark. And I can tell you that it runs smooth as silk. The game play is fast and there’s no lag at all regardless of how fast you are. You can also switch game play modes to search mode where the game gives you the words and you need to find them as fast as you can. It’s a straight race against the clock. You can also adjust the grid size (4×4 or 5×5) and the length of the game (3 – 5 minutes) so there’s no shortage of options. The game also independently keeps your high score for each mode of play so you can track your progress and compare your scores. It’s finger friendly, fast and good looking – just like all of Herm’s apps. And at the end of the game it even shows you all of the words that you missed. It keeps you thinking, is highly addictive and because of the different modes and options it doesn’t go stale.

He’s made this game available for a mere $.99 which I think is a bargain for a game that’s as polished as this one. It works for almost all screen resolutions: VGA (Fuze/Diamond), WVGA (Touch HD, Diamond 2, TP2), QVGA (Tilt) and WQVGA (Omnia). Check out the video to see it in action and head over to Herm’s Software for information on purchasing it.
