Mango to Bring Private Betas and Game Ratings to App Hub
by Danny Lam on April 14, 2011
According to Roger Peters, Mango will give devs the ability to have private betas and release private apps(requires a deep link to download the app). Games will also require ratings and certification of those ratings if it’s required by the region of distribution. Private betas will expire after 90days and will have a limit of 100 downloads. Private apps will have no time or download limit, but will not be searchable in the Marketplace. The ability to distribute betas will be a huge boon to devs. Not only can they more easily test their apps before release, but this will also be great for reviewers to try out apps in their fullness before giving it a stamp of approval.
