Microsoft has some new spots airing tonight (turn on the SNF game and you’ll definitely see it a few times). This ad shows an Xbox with Kinect, beings filmed with a windows phone and then edited on a PC with Windows 7. Of course, on YouTube Microsoft describes it as “http://microsoft.com/family – While dad is playing Dance Central 2 for Xbox 360 with Kinect, his kids capture his moves and edit them into a hilarious Movie Maker video. Thanks to Microsoft, dad’s funny dancing can be watched over and over. It’s a great time to be a family”. Maybe they don’t know that when speaking about your own products you plug them…like by name. You now, mentioning that you capture it on a Windows Phone editing it using Movie Maker on a Windows 7 PC.

Anyway, here’s the ad:

Still, it gives hopes that Microsoft is beginning to understand what an ecosystem is and putting it all together. What do you think?

  1. Xbox, Kinect, WP7 phone, Windows 7 Laptop and a Windows 7 all in one desktop…

That’s a lot of stuff going into the production of a quick silly video of dad pretending to play a video game…
