Another week, another shot in the arm for the Windows Phone 8 app story. Reddit user zyphaz just posted that Citrix Receiver was just announced for WP8. The popular and important app allows users to access their enterprise applications, files and desktops on the go. Basically you’ll be able to remote desktop into your office in addition to other features.

Finally! I spent 24 hours searching the Windows Phone Store for Indigo-the cross-platform personal assistant app-hoping to bring the news of its availability to the masses. If you’re not familiar with Indigo you can check out the video below that explains it quite well. Its like Siri for iOS except its all grown up and gets social. Indigo brilliantly delivered their app for both Android and Windows Phone on the same day, yesterday. The only misfire was that the app took a day longer to be published in the Windows Phone Store so it just became available. Still, the intent and plan was evident that they wanted both platform users to discover and fuel the growth of the app and I applaud their vision.

The big thing that separates Indigo from other personal assistants is that it allows users to continue conversations across devices. So if you pull up directions on your computer or Windows Phone you can continue the conversation on your Android tablet and all you’d have to do is ask Indigo to “take me there”. Indigo will reference your earlier conversation on previous devices and bring up the directions.

I know the future of calling is all video and face to face, but honestly I hate it. That being said, you can now get free video calling on your Android device thanks to VoX via their app. Well you can get 60 minutes of calling for free when you download the app, so I guess that’s something right?

Vox Communications has added free video calling to its Android Mobile VoIP calling application. The app is immediately available to all Android phones and tablets that support video calling via the Google Play Store.  All subscribers also have access to the VoX “Pay And Go” subscription-free calling plans. The subscription-free plan called “Pay and Go” can be topped up with amounts as little as one dollar and enables calling anywhere in the world without paying a monthly subscription fee.

VoX’s Chief Information Officer, Mark Richards, noted, “After an initial release via the Amazon App Store, we are now comfortable that we can support video calling to the broader audience available on the Google Play Store. I feel like a zombie today, no seriously I feel like crap.. I spent most of yesterday working on a theme for another site and as the day progressed I just worse and worse. Last night I was in bed early and I woke up today feeling like I got run over by a train, blah…  So Zombies and Trains is now on iOS and well in the game you run over zombies with trains. So a game sponsored by a knife company?! Not a bad idea I guess, Cold Steel is a well known maker of high quality knives and their name is on the latest game for iOS and Android which is called TRex Hunt. The name kind of explains it all I think, but the game looks kind of neat. It’s a hunting game yes, but it’s really a recuse game, you’re a caveman and your mate has been kidnapped and you have to fight your way across the prehistoric island to rescue her. As the game progresses you gain access to more weapons, like you start out with rocks, then you move to spears. Something tells me it might be hard killing a TRex with a rock, but hey what do I know?!

A new game for the iPhone, iPad and Android devices places the player in a caveman’s shoes to hunt stegosaurs, pterodactyls and tyrannosaurs. TRex Hunt is now available in the iTunes App Store and Google Play for $1.99.

The game uses 3D graphics to immerse the player in the ancient world. The player can explore an entire island in every direction, avoiding or confronting dinosaurs as they approach.

But this is no simple hunt. Boltar, an evil caveman, has kidnapped the player’s mate and a rescue must be mounted. Between the player and the island where she is being held are many flesh eating dinosaurs, including the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex.
