ASUS PadFone X Coming June 6th to AT&T Exclusively

Fair warning this is probably going to be a rant and press release combined.. So the ASUS PadFone X is coming to AT&T exclusively on June 6th and it theory it sounds likes a great idea and a great product but in reality I don’t think so. According to the AT&T site it’s two devices and one data plan but the flaw there is the data plans are ridiculously expensive to be actually of use to anyone unless you’re rich. I personally would never get or use a tablet on a cellphone data plan as to me they’re worthless except for checking email and browsing some websites as it’s not like you’re going to watch Netflix or stream music over a cellphone data connection. How long would the data plan last you? Not a month surely. I’m just so sick of these companies, all of them, not just AT&T, touting that their data plans are wonderful and in the best interest of their customers. That’s a load of BS, it’s to make them money, plain and simple, the customer is not making out in any way, shape or form. I love the idea of the PadFone X, I’m sure overall it’s a great product but in the long I think it won’t be worth it as you won’t be able to fully utilize it and enjoy as it was meant to be. The prices they charge for data are sickening, but yet they try and tell us that it’s a great deal. Yes I’m grandfathered in with unlimited data on AT&T but even I can’t really utilize it as it’s not really unlimited now is it? I was looking at AT&T data plans and for example they offer a 10gb plan for $100, that’s outrageous, that’s $10 per gigabyte. If you go smaller it’s even worse, 1gb on AT&T is $25 per month. Seriously? Why are we putting up with this shit that companies are selling us? Why are we letting them rip us off so bad? I guess we don’t have much of a choice do we because of the monopolies and crappy service they offer. I’m stuck with AT&T if I want to be able to get phone calls in my own home. AT&T is the third provider I’ve used and it’s the first that actually let’s me get calls in my home, so I’m stuck with them, plain and simple. Even then my service is spotty, I just looked at my phone and it bounces between 2 and 3 bars regularly and some days it’s even just 1 bar, and usually I have to go stand by the window to take phone calls and some days I have to go stand on the porch outside. (not fun at all in the winter by the way…) It’s not just the phones either, every phone I’ve had has the same issues. I guess a couple bars and a phone call is better than not being able to receive calls right?  Shitty service is better than no service at all and these cell companies know it. They have us by the balls as it were and we’re just stuck with their subpar service because we don’t have a real choice at all. Whatever, rant over… below you can find the PR about the PanFone X and some pics..
