ASUS Vivo Tab Note 8 is Back in Stock!
|The long anticipated Vivo Tab Note Windows 8 tablet with Wacom stylus appears to be back on store shelves. They did a soft release in February with very limited stock and announced that the tablet would have a proper release in late March / early April. Well guess what, it’s early April and I decided to check status. You can pickup the 32GB model at Microsoft.com for $299 (regularly $329). The 64GB is showing Out of Stock at Microsoft. But I was really looking forward to a 64GB Note 8, so I opted for the offering through Amazon (only 2 available when I ordered). Should arrive in a few days. ASUS notes (no pun intended) that the Note 8 is also available at; Walmart (64GB out of stock), Target Direct (32/64GB in stock), Newegg (32/64GB in stock), B&H (32/64GB in stock) and Adorama (32/64GB in stock). $329 everywhere for the 32GB. Some sites have the 64GB for $369.
I am currently using a fitted case with my Acer W8 tablet (soon to be offered on eBay) which makes it twice as thick as it really is. Decided I would try the ASUS VersaSleeve case instead. I get a little jealous when I see my nephew with his thin iPad Mini.
Once I have had a day to play I will be sure to report back on the pros and cons of this latest Windows tablet offering. Btw, for those that are interested, a Miracast adapter is available via ASUS.
Below are specs for what I expect will be a hot mover when it is finally released officially.
Ah cool looking forward to a review. I was very interested in this device until I saw the battery performance. I don’t know why they had to go for a small battery. I may end up waiting for a deal on a Surface 2 which could be a while.
I won’t argue with you on the battery performance. Hoping its a solid 6 hours and not wishful thinking. Had they added wireless charging this limitation might have been more tolerable.
