ASUS VivoTab RT Windows 8 Tablet Coming to AT&T Tomorrow
|Hmm… here’s a deal for you if you’re looking for a new Windows tablet. AT&T is offering the new ASUS VivoTab for tomorrow for $499, and you’ll get a dock and battery with it. You will need a 2yr data agreement to get that price of course. I still think $500 is a but pricey but then again I haven’t had the chance to play with one so I’m not sure the quality of them.
AT&T* and ASUS today announced the ASUS VivoTab RT, a new tablet designed for Windows 8, will be available for customers beginning Nov. 16 for $499.99 after exclusive holiday promotions, including a free Mobile Dock with a keyboard and additional battery. AT&T will be the only U.S. carrier to offer the new LTE capable tablet from ASUS this holiday shopping season. For a limited time, AT&T customers will receive a $100 off the ASUS VivoTab RT, after purchasing any Windows smartphone and an additional $100 off any tablet, purchased at an AT&T company owned store or online at www.att.com with a two-year data plan agreement.1
“The ASUS VivoTab RT will give consumers and business customers an optimized touch interface and live tile updates with PC capabilities,” said Chris Penrose, senior vice president, AT&T Emerging Devices. “With this tablet, we’re giving customers the opportunity to connect the first Windows RT tablet with 4G LTE connectivity, and for as low as $10 per month, with AT&T’s new Mobile Share plans. It’s portable and very affordable.”
“We are very excited to work closely with AT&T to bring the first 4G LTE capable Windows RT tablet to the North American market,” said Jerry Shen, ASUS CEO. “Our goal is to drive product innovation through our ‘Design Thinking’ philosophy and deliver an immersive user experience. We believe the innovative ASUS VivoTab RT and mobile dock are the best choice for consumers and business customers to connect while on-the-go with the AT&T 4G LTE network.”

AT&T customers have access to the nation’s largest 4G network, covering 285 million people. AT&T has two 4G networks that work together for customers, LTE and HSPA+ with enhanced backhaul. That means AT&T customers are able to enjoy a widespread, ultra-fast and consistent 4G experience on their compatible device as they move in and out of LTE areas.2 With other carriers, when you travel outside of their LTE coverage area, you may be on a much slower 3G network.
Customers purchasing Windows 8 tablets from AT&T have more options in choosing the plan that’s right for them and their mobile devices. With new AT&T Mobile Share plans, new and existing customers can share a single bucket of data across smartphones, tablets, and other compatible devices. AT&T Mobile Share allows customers to build a plan to fit their devices and usage. For as low as $10 per month, customers can connect the ASUS VivoTab RT 4G LTE tablet with AT&T’s new Mobile Share plans. Customers can select one of the new shared data plans or choose one of AT&T’s existing individual or family plans.3
The ASUS VivoTab RT will be available in AT&T company-owned retail stores nationwide and online at www.wireless.att.com.
