GameStop Offers First Access to the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime
|Here’s something I didn’t expect at all, GameStop of all places is getting the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime before anyone else. The tablet features the Nvidia Tegra 3 CPU. I just checked the GameStop website and the price is listed as $499.99 with a release date of 12/15 and it’s running Android 3.2. That price is just ridiculous I think personally, $500 for an Android Tablet, sorry not happening.
The next generation of Android tablets make their debut this holiday season and GameStop (NYSE: GME) is providing the first opportunity to get hands-on with the new quad-core NVIDIA® Tegra® 3 processor. Select stores nationwide will have the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime, the first tablet to use the new Tegra 3 chip, available for demo beginning this weekend.
The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime is available for pre-order at www.GameStop.com/Tablets and in select U.S. GameStop stores. On Dec. 19, online orders will begin shipping and in-store pre-orders will be available for pickup.
All ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablets purchased at GameStop come with a hand-picked selection of free games, including Shadowgun from MADFINGER Games, the Kongregate Arcade app and a digital issue of Game Informer magazine. To take the tablet gaming experience to the next level and maximize on-screen viewing during game play, GameStop also offers a wireless Bluetooth® controller available for purchase in stores or online. And, as with all products sold by GameStop, these items can be purchased with trades of games, consoles and even an old iPod, iPhone or iPad.
