Live in Europe, Get Two Year Warranty on Apple Products

Live anywhere else and you’re stuck with a one year ‘limited’ warranty  unless of course your shell of the extra cash for an Apple care plan…. The courts ruling has just come down in the EU so I guess that’s good for those citizens and the rest of the world is just out of luck. My question though is why not change it for everyone then? Of course I already know the answer, because they don’t have to and of course Apple wouldn’t make any money selling the Apple care plans…. It seems like the EU has better consumer protection plans than the United States and other countries.
