Steampunk Fantasy–Obscenely Addictive (Free) Game For WP7
|Steampunk Fantasy is Glowpuff’s (yeah Gridrunner Girl and Zombie Circus to name a few) latest Windows Phone 7 game and after playing it until I nearly drained my battery, I can assure you it’s addictive. I think it’s best described as a cross between the classic game Pipes and Tetris. You need to connect pieces of the steam pipe to chains of at least five to remove them and you get bonuses if you can work out longer chains. And the game ends when you run out of room. There are also specialized pieces like TNT and some dud pieces that you need to work around. All in all, it’s a well polished and addictive game and yours truly is holding the high score currently (which I’m prepared to defend if needed). Here’s the official description:
Steampunk Fantasy takes the best parts of your favorite puzzle strategy games like Tetris and Bejeweled, and combines them into one addictive ride! Gameplay is simple – fill the steam gauge by connecting 5 or more pieces of steampunk machinery. Master the art of building connections of *more* than 5 pieces for huge point bonuses! Keep the board in order with special drops of TNT, the Drill, and the Randomizer. Compete against the worldwide leaderboards in Timed and continuous Survival modes. Take your skills to the Challenge mode where 30 different challenges of various difficulties await you. This is just the beginning – more enhancements and power-ups are planned for future updates!
