Verizon officially launches the HTC Trophy May 26th
Verizon will not only be in AT&T’s iPhone game starting May 26th, but will also start eating away at market share with their first Windows Phone offering, the HTC Trophy. Launching on the Verizon network May 26th, and going live in stores on June 2nd, the 3.8 inch , 1GHz processor, and 16GB memory, Trophy will sell for $149.99 with a two year contract. Even though I personally prefer the 4.3 inch screen of the HD7s launching on AT&T three days after the Trophy on Verizon, the Trophy will be further hamstringed with the lack of their faster LTE network not unlike their version of the Apple iPhone 4.

Honestly, this phone will be dead in the water. They are finally releasing a Windows Phone with little to no fanfare and in another half year the new batch of phones will be out. At this time they need to dramatically reduce the selling price to no more than $99.99.
Yeah, but it might be St. Patricks Day before Verizon customers see another WP so it’s take what you can get. reading comments in forums, those that can leave have already done so. Everyone else is stuck with Verizon because of business or family accounts. I actually think Verizon will be pleasantly surprised with the response. Not earth shattering, but for Windows Phone, significant.
And take this with a grain of salt. But someone posted this a few weeks ago; HTC Thunderbolt – 9.6M searches, HTC Trophy – 8.6M searches, HTC Trophy Verizon – 1.6M searches. Sure it might have been the same 30 users checking every 5 minutes for 6 months, but you never know.
