Weather Channel Max for iPad update may have issues
One of my most have apps on the iPhone and iPad is the Weather Channel App. I live in the South and things can get crazy in a hurry down here and the weather gets bad too. (HarHar). Anyway, when I got my iPad it was one of the first apps I downloaded from the App Store and have used it quite often until the February 16th 2011 update to version 2.3.1 rolled out. The Weather Channel Max App for the iPad contained the following updates with this release:
• Full screen, customizable weather maps
• In-motion radar includes past and future views
• Local, regional and national forecast video
• Riveting storm footage and breaking news video
• Real-time Twitter feeds from popular TWC on-air personalities
Well now it seems I am not alone with a pretty major problem with this app, it freezes on startup. I dug around a little bit and I am not the only one. Several people on the App’s customer reviews stated the same thing. I uninstalled and tried to re-install the app and was met with a pop up box that stated:
“The item you tried to buy is no longer available.”
Until we can dig to the bottom of this, it might be advisable to stay away from the February 16th 2011 update.
NOTE: The iPhone apps is still working normally, this just seems to be an issue with the iPad update.
