Proporta Alu-Leather Case (HTC P4550 / TyTn II / Kaiser Series) – Flip Type

Our phones are usually much more than just for making calls, especially phones like the HTC TyTn II or the Tilt. These smartphones can be our mobiles offices that allow us to always keep in touch and know what’s going on. These are great phones, there’s no doubt about that, the one downfall to them is their price, they’re usually very expensive, and most of us are locked into contracts, so if something happens to the phone we’re probably out of luck. So the thing to do is get a case for them to make sure they’re protected, but not just any case will do, at least for me, I’m particular, I want a case that will offer me the most protection for my phone, but yet the ease of access I need. Today for review I’ve got a Flip Style case from Proporta that will fit either the HTC TyTn II or the AT&T Tilt, this case is leather and well made, the leather will offer good protection for your phone, but there’s a bonus aluminum plate in the top cover section for even better protection for the screen of yourphone.

The Proporta Leather Flip case comes in a small box with a cut out window so you can see the case itself.

Inside we find a plastic tray with the case, belt clip and adapter.

The phone comes packaged with a piece of styrofoam inside of it to make sure it keeps it’s shape. The case is leather and when you open the box you’ll smell it, personally I like the smell of leather… On the front is a small Proporta logo, and it’s where the clip attaches. On the back is a small screw that can be removed to use the belt clip, you’ll need to attach the round clip to the case, then the belt clip to that.

This case is the type that opens downward so you’ve got the flap hanging down as you talk, not something I prefer, I’ve been using a Krusell case for about a year now, and it’s similar to this but it flips up and over the back while talking.

The front flip cover actually has an aluminum plate inside of it to help protect your phone, inside we can also see the Proporta web address engraved into the plate.

The other side of the case is where you would put your phone, there is a small clip on top, and a clear covering that goes over your keyboard. This covering not only protects the keyboard but also holds your phone in the case.

It does take a bit of work to get your phone in the case, but that’s a good thing as it’s a nice tight fit, but I would recommend powering off your phone during installation as you will hit the buttons. When your phone is in the case you’ve basically got full access to all of the buttons and ports, the sides are really fully open, which is very nice.

On the back of the case is a cutout for the camera so you can still take pictures while it’s in the case.

When you want to use the keyboard, you’ll have full access, though it does take a bit to get accustomed to the clear covering for typing, but after a while it’s not a problem.

I like this type of clip because you can leave the clip on your belt, you just push the button on the top to release the phone, and then just re-clip when finished talking, it’s very nice feature.

Overall the Proporta Leather Flip Style case is nice, the only complaint I have is the flip part, it flips down, but I think that’s more of a personal thing for me as the case I’ve been using for many months flips the other way so this just feels awkward for me.

The aluminum plate in the cover is a nice touch, it doesn’t really add any weight to the case, but it adds a lot of protection.

It’s nicely made with nice thick stitching so it should hold together for a quite some time.

If I had to give it a score it would be a 4 1/2 out of 5.
