Samsung Announces Its First Ice Cream Sandwich Tablet, Galaxy Tab 2

With a 1GHZ dual-core processor, 1GB RAM,  and pair of cameras, Galaxy Tab 2 comes in three storage specs, 8 GB,16 GB, and 32 GB. The specs are almost same as the recently introduced its Galaxy Tab 7.0 plus, and I wonder Samsung is pushing the unsold inventory of its Galaxy Tab 7.0 by just upgrading it to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).

The Tablet comes with updated TouchWiz interface laid over Ice Cream Sandwich. I remember that Google sometime back said it is going to standardize user interface across all the Android 4.0 tablets. Well this proves that Google has no control over Android Devices and their User Experiences. .

Didn’t Samsung say during December 2011 that the current Galaxy Tabs wouldn’t get Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade because of hardware incompatibilities? Well what else they have in this Galaxy Tab 2.0 that is not there in Galaxy Tab 7.0 is beyond my knowledge. To me, it just sounds like an OS upgraded Galaxy Tabs 7.0 Plus. If not, Samsung should clear us what is the “thing” in hardware that differentiates this with Galaxy Tab 7.0 plus. The Galaxy Tab 2.0 will be sold in UK first and later may shore towards this side of the Atlantic Ocean. This Tablet also comes with 3G Radio, and I hope they will be sold with AT&T or T-Mobile Branding or Samsung just will announce WiFi  model and sell it here in the USA.
