AT&T Announces Windows Phone 8 Pricing and Availability

wp78startscreen2

This morning AT&T has finally cleared up most of the mystery surrounding its support for Windows Phone 8. The pricing for the HTC 8X, as well as the Nokia 810 & 920 have been revealed and the first devices arrive this friday, November 9th.

HTC

The Windows Phone 8X by HTC comes in two different storage capacities with the 8GB model running a cool $99 while the 16GB model will set you back the normal $199. This is currently HTC’s flagship Windows Phone 8 device and should see ample units sell particularly with budget conscious customers who will love the form factor and colors of the 8GB version.

It is a little disappointing to see the 8X not going for the $149 we had seen rumored as I think it needs to be priced aggressively in the face of stiff competition. Alas, it looks like AT&T and Verizon will be trying to squeeze as much as they can from 8X buyers.

Nokia

That weird and creepy giggle you hear right now is me. I’m positively giddy over the price of the Nokia Lumia 920. The 32 GB Lumia 920 will run users an amazingly low $99. The  Lumia 810 will prove to be an equally enticing buy at a budget friendly $49. The Lumia 820 will come only in black. The swappable color shells will be available for purchase separately.

Folks, this pricing is meant to get Windows Phone 8 handsets moving fast and frequently and I love it. No matter what your budget is you can get an awesome Windows Phone 8 device that not only will work well and deliver a great experience but you’ll stand out from the crowd with the vibrant colors commanding attention.
