Apple looks like it will be leaving one of the key iPhone features aside in the next version of iOS and replacing Google Maps with their own version of Maps. Even though speculation has been building on this conversion with several acquisitions on Apple’s part to support it, BGR has obtained exclusive photo’s and information from a “trusted source” that confirms that we will have a change in iOS 6.
Claiming a refreshed user interface and navigation bar, Apple will be leaving the blue color scheme and changing to silver. The phone version of Maps will have a floating locate me button and in the bottom corner access to the 3D mode which will utilize technology obtained from their acquisition of C3 Technologies.
From BGR: “Apple is now putting the finishing touches on its 3D mapping functionality, and it is currently being tested in build 10A3XX of iOS 6.”
